After almost two hours of waiting, I finally got to see Dr. Frazier for five minutes.

The verdict: I need to get a CT scan. He says the fracture extends into the joint and he wants to make sure the gap in the break isn’t more than 2 mm wide, otherwise it will need to be surgically repaired. Based on the X-ray, he does not think it will be necessary. Also, the break is stable enough to where I probably won’t need a cast, which is good. Although I was secretly hoping to have one for people to sign…

But the best news he gave me is that I can resume running in a few weeks, once all the swelling has gone down!!

This is a chance that this ultramarathon may still happen after all!
