Visiting my construction projects in 108F heat today was probably the worst idea ever.

7.28.11 Run - 3 Miles
I got off the comfortable couch and went for a run. Thanks to everybody for that extra push!
My intention was to do maybe 5 miles. But I had to cut my run short brcause of how unusually hot it felt tonight. It was miserable. I was pouring sweat like crazy. But I got out there and ran.
And I’m glad I did!
No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. It really does say 103F with heat index of 111F.
It feels nasty outside.
This happened on Sunday: Seven Hollows trail at Petit Jean State Park. Erin, myself, and a couple of friends all went up there with our 4 dogs. It was quite an adventure, as usual. Although this time we had missing dogs, lots more snakes, and almost got heat stroke.
Despite the shade, it was way too hot to be out there hiking in the middle of the day. There was probably a reason there were no cars in the parking area!
We survived, though. Barely.
This weather is nasty. And the summer is only getting started…
