This happened on Sunday: Seven Hollows trail at Petit Jean State Park. Erin, myself, and a couple of friends all went up there with our 4 dogs. It was quite an adventure, as usual. Although this time we had missing dogs, lots more snakes, and almost got heat stroke.
Despite the shade, it was way too hot to be out there hiking in the middle of the day. There was probably a reason there were no cars in the parking area!
We survived, though. Barely.
6.5.11 Hike - 4 Miles
Erin, the kids (our dogs), and I went up to Petit Jean State Park early this morning for a hike. We tried to beat the heat, but it caught up with us by 10:00 or so. And even though it got warm towards the end, the tree canopy provided quite a bit of shade. So it was not that bad. Humid, yes. But not terribly hot.
It was a fun hike. With plenty of snakes and ticks for all of us.
